Wax Museum Project
Way to go, Addison--->
<---- Way to go, Piper!
Project Overview
Dear 4th graders and families,
The following is a project that our 4th grade team intended to complete our last quarter. At this time, we are NOT requiring students complete the project. In light of the school closure, we wanted to offer eager students an opportunity to start the project.
...
In an attempt to bring history to life, our scholars will be becoming a famous person that played a role in Colorado History. Students will select, research, write about, and ultimately “become” the historical person by participating in a Wax Museum. Students will create backdrops and dress up as their historic figure, as well as present biographical information to students and community members that attend the museum display. Students will be provided ample time at school to complete projects. Costumes and any props will have to be gathered and donated from home. Students will not be allowed to wear face paint for their presentations. Scoring rubric, project requirements and criteria, applicable state standards, and project due dates are attached. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mrs. Vigil or myself.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs. Guasta and Mrs. Vigil
4th grade Team
**Students that do not have access to internet for research, but want to start on their project now just email/send remind of who you want and I will print and send resources to you.

Criteria
Criteria:
Plan/Outline
Informational essay with research
TBA: Oral Presentation on person’s life and contribution to Colorado
TBA: Visual Display: Backdrop and costume
*Because of the current school closure, we may have to be creative with the way students share their costumes and presentations. At this point, if students can get a jump on their research and writing, that would be a great start to eventually finishing the project. At this time, however, this project is completely optional.
Historical Coloradans List (Choose one!)
Please select one person from the list below. If there is a person you would like to research and “become” that is not on this list, please email your teacher for approval. When you have selected your person, please email Mrs. Guasta (bguasta@re-2.org) or Mrs. Vigil (svigil@re-2.org), so that their name is removed from the list.
