what's new in 3HR!

Welcome back to school! We look forward to working with your child and your family. 

Your child has received a zippered pouch from our Parent Council. It will go home periodically with work that your child has completed.  Please have your child return it to school the following day.  

Spelling/Phonics/ Reading- Our spelling, phonics and reading program is called UFLI. There will be a sheet that will be sent home every second or third day that explains the sounds and words we are working on in class. There is also a roll and read sheet with a list of words. Your child can roll a dice and read or spell the word. This is great practice for your child. 

Swim: 

We will be heading to the pool at the Recreation Center in mid-September.

- If your child has long hair, please tie it back for them at home so it does not get in their eyes in the pool. Your child can use a swim cap if they choose.

- Students who are swimming in the morning may choose to wear their swimsuits underneath their clothes. Just remember to bring their undergarments. 

- Students need to bring their towels and swimsuits in a small bag. Backpacks are too large. 

- When the weather is cool, you can send a toque with your child as they will be leaving the pool with wet hair. 

- Students get hungry on swim days, so please send an extra snack. 

- Students should not wear any jewelry or other items that might get lost.
