A little bit about me...

Bonjour! I am a new teacher at École Barrie Wilson and I look forward to teaching grade 4 French Immersion for the 2023-2024 school year.  Over the last few years, I have taught French Immersion grades 1 through 4 in Red Deer and Lacombe.

I  am a French Canadian, originally from Québec, where completed several degrees including a Bachelors in Classical Studies with majors in Archaeology, Ancient Languages, and Art. I moved to Toronto, Ontario, where I earned my Masters in Middle Eastern Studies with a focus in Egyptology. I further pursued my love for history by moving to Red Deer to work with Museums and completed yet another certificate, one in Museum Studies. Once my daughter started school full-time, I decided to follow my passion for teaching and learning by enrolling in Bachelors of Education Middle Years Collaborative Program through the University of Alberta and Red Deer Polytechnic from which I graduated in the Spring of 2021.

I have a beautiful daughter named Laney and she is already in grade 6 at Central Middle School this year. She attended EBWS from Kindergarten all the way to graduating grade 5. I have been a part of the EBWS school community for the last six years and it feels like home. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to be teaching at this wonderful school and to provide a welcoming environment for everyone.

My teaching is student centered and I like to focus on experiential and hands-on learning. I am passionate about teaching French Immersion and helping all my students succeed! I look forward to an amazing year!
