A note from your Family School Counsellor: 

Hello again!

A little about myself.  I finished my degree in psychology at RDC in 2008.  I spent the following 3 years as a Parent Consultant for a small contract agency.  This was a dream job but being a mom was an even bigger dream.  I then spent 4 years at home with my 3 little babes who aren't so little anymore (my oldest  started middle school last year).  Coming to work for Red Deer Catholic just as my children entered their school career was the perfect fit! 

During my time as a Family School Enhancement Counsellor (FSEC) I have been at Elizabeth Seton, Maryview, Holy Family, St. Martin, Father Henri and St. Francis of Assisi.  Being connected to all these schools has allowed me to connect to so many amazing families.  I feel truly blessed and honoured to be welcomed into the hearts and homes of our students and parents.    

Just like school counsellors, FSCs are here to support the needs of the whole child, however, the FSC specializes in supporting parents and guardians alongside their children.  Requests for support include things like (but not limited to): parenting challenges, family dynamic changes, financial insecurities, and making connections to community resources.  Should you feel you could benefit from the support of your school's FSC do not hesitate to reach out!  If I cannot help you directly we will work together to find an agency who can.
