File Format characteristics 

PDF-portable-document-format used when you need to save files that cannot be modified but still need easily shared and printed. Used by photographers to create portfolios in a PDF format, easy format to share. Alsp help showcase true color and are easily editable. 

JPG-one of the most common ways to store digital photos most modern cameras use them too shoot and store images also gop through a compression method which shrinks the file size making these photos easier to store and load on web pages. 

GIF- type of format in which it captures a moment or feeling that can be shared with the world. good for adding a unique sense ort storytelling series of images playing over and over again in a sequence.  

PNG- Mostly used for Web graphics,logos,charts and illustrations. Rather than a high quality image they take up more digital space compared to JPEG they offer the ability to handle graphics with transparent backgrounds.
