Question:
What is school-based therapy?
Answer:
School-based therapy is mental health treatment from a mental health professional right here at your school. We offer the same services as an outpatient clinic, but conveniently located at the school!
Question:
How can I be referred for services?
Answer:
You can call our Central Access team at 651-774-0011 to schedule an intake appointment or fill out the online referral form here (https://peopleincorporated.org/school-based-mental-health-referral-form/), and Central Access will reach out to get an intake appointment scheduled
Question:
Are these services free?
Answer:
No, the services are not "free" since we do bill insurance. However, based on income, you may qualify for lower-cost services. We wouldn't want payment to be a barrier to services, so we will work with you to make arrangements!🙂
Question:
Am I able to choose which therapist to work with?
Answer:
We will do our best for specific accommodations if needed. However, we cannot guarantee to accommodate therapist preferences due to the availability of each therapist's caseload.
Question:
As a student, am I able to refer myself without my parents?
Answer:
Unfortunately, if you are under 18, we would need parental involvement unless you are emancipated. If you are over 18, you do not need parent consent, but if you are using your parents' insurance for payment, they may see the services in the explanation of benefits.
Question:
As a parent, am I able to refer my child without their knowledge?
Answer:
We do not recommend referring your child/student without their knowledge as we'd want the student to be engaging and participate in therapy.
