June 2025
Dear Parents of the Cooper 2026 Graduating Class,
Welcome to the exciting time of having a senior at Cooper High School! You are probably already buried in senior portrait solicitations from area photography studios, so on behalf of the Cooper Talons Yearbook, I’d like to take this opportunity to clarify details of senior portraits for the 2026 yearbook.
Senior portraits are due by Friday, December 19th, 2025 in order to include them in the 2026 yearbook. We do not have requirements for what your photo background needs to be or whether the photo is face only or full length. We do require the following:
We will provide a Google Form for students to submit pictures when school starts. If you’d like to share them earlier than that, you can find the form linked on the yearbook website:
Attire must fit the Robbinsdale Area Schools dress code.
Photo should be portrait oriented, not landscape (vertical, not horizontal). Our photo boxes are relatively square. We recommend closer shots vs. full length for visual clarity. (Not required but recommended)
No selfies and no photos with Snapchat, Instagram, or other app filters
Only one person/face per portrait.
Photos must be tasteful and appropriate. We will not print photos including guns or other weapons, with clothing or backgrounds that are disrespectful to our school, our country, or that are discriminatory. We will not print suggestive poses in photos. We reserve the right to crop or edit pictures and/or return those that are inappropriate for replacements.
If you are not interested in or unable to use a studio for senior pictures, there are other options for your senior’s portrait. We DO want EVERY senior in our book!
1. Your student can have their picture taken during the normal picture day at school. The first opportunity will be at the Great Cooper Get-Together (open house) on Tuesday, August 25. We receive all school portraits/ID photos to be put in the yearbook from Kemmetmueller Photography and can use your student’s ID portrait in the senior photo section.
2. Most phone cameras are very high quality and can take excellent pictures. Your senior is welcome to submit a photo taken by family or friends on a phone camera or personal camera.
Many parents also are curious about the traditional “senior baby ads”. Please see the additional document in this envelope regarding purchasing baby picture ads for your senior or for them to place a buddy ad with friends. These are a long standing Cooper tradition and are completely optional.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me!
Sincerely,
Annika Peterson- Yearbook Adviser
