Competitive golf that consists of varsity, JV, and a developmental team
A total of 22-28 players (8 varsity, 8-10 JV, and 6-10 developmental players)
Varsity:
About 8 players on the team
Golf experience necessary - competitive golf experience encouraged
Several competitive events including seven 18 hole conference events
5 days/week
Junior Varsity (JV):
8-10 players on the team - can move up and down to varsity
Golf experience necessary - competitive golf experience encouraged

Developmental Team:
Designed for 7th and 8th graders at Plymouth MS or Sandburg MS who plan to attend Armstrong
Some experience encouraged
Less competitive - geared toward introducing kids to competitive golf
Does not begin until Eagle Lake opens - usually early to mid April
2-3 days/week
Some 9 hole competitions later in season
If they have the ability, 7th and 8th graders can try out for the varsity/JV teams and be placed on the Developmental Team if they do not qualify
If signing up for the developmental team, families should pay the middle school fee ($46)
Tryouts
Tryouts will take place as soon as weather permits
The goal is to have 2 - 3 nine hole rounds played at a regulation golf course
Depending on number of registrants, some years we are forced to make cuts
Players must have their own clubs and golf shoes

Be successful in your academics. High school golf requires you to miss school. You must stay caught up in all classes.
Attending classes and getting there on time - in person or distance learning
Do not use mood altering chemicals, alcohol, tobacco, vaping
Commitment to attend practices

Wear golf attire (collared shirt and slacks) while at practice or practice rounds
60 degree rule: must have pants and long sleeve available if temperature is below 60 degrees.

2022 trip to Brainerd
Practices, matches or events will occur Monday - Friday (no weekend events with one exception)
Majority of practices will occur at Eagle Lake Golf Course with no transportation provided to practice
Northwest Suburban Conference (NWSC events) are 18 holes
Varsity and JV play 7 conference events each
Most begin early afternoon (most 1:00)
No transportation provided to home events at GVCC, Brookview, or Eagle Lake.
Varsity and JV are able to play up to 16 events, not including state tournament
Developmental team will play about 4 competitions in May
