The history of the Consortium of Santi Crispino and Crispiniano highlights three fundamental dates:
- 1608 Year - there are records, according to "The Church of Vigevano" a man named Brambilla, in the Church of Mercy (now are only the remains of the convent), at the presence of a notary, it was constituted the first Confraternity of the Cobblers , namely: Calzolai Consortium.
- Since 1862 the Brotherhood moved to the Church of Our Lady of the Snows where, only the 10th of October 1947, through the generosity of 119 donors, was built a precious altar with the statues of the patrons, made by the sculptor Enrico Manzoni from Bergamo, and offered by Bertolini family.
- In 1971 - The headquarters moved, with the devotion of the patrons of Calzaturieri, in the parish of Jesus Divine Worker and was inaugurated by the diocesan Bishop Mons. Mario Rossi, with the blessing of the altar of the patron saints. In 1981 the Consortium of the Saints Crispino and Crispiniano extablished the Award Loyalty to Work with a cloak, a parchment with a badge.

The machine gallery
It represents some of the most important mechanical machines used in the XX.th century for the production of footwear.
Among these is the seamstress "blake" for soles called "Whale" for its paunchy shape, produced by USM and imported from France, on which the maintenance mechanics of Vigevano learned soon how to produce spare parts. With the awareness of being able to build similar machines, the first manufacturers, founders of an endless line of businessmen in the mechano - footwear industry were born.
The "Whale" logo represents the symbol of the Museum.

The topographic map of the Lomellina territory crossed by the Ticino River, a natural border with Milan, is the background to the video that introduces the themes developed in the exhibition.
