Project Based Learning

Project Based Learning is an education style where children learn through guiding questions and hands-on, minds-on experience that is authentic to their own lives and communities. This year PES has partnered with the Tarrant Center in an effort to bring PBL to our school. With the help of Ms. Katy Farber and Ms. Emily Hoyler my class has been working on a long term PBL project about extreme weather. Through their own research students studied climate zones, natural disasters, risk assessments, weather forecasting, and disaster relief. The students took a field trip to WCAX to learn how weather is predicted and what a live broadcast includes. Please enjoy the students own projects they have created this year about extreme weather.
