Our Faith

Faith Formation

Many opportunities for prayer and faith formation exist in the fourth grade classroom at Resurrection Catholic School. Religion instruction occurs daily and is modeled throughout the day. Each fourth grade religion lesson begins with a decade of the Rosary for any intentions the students have posted on our classroom prayer wall, for intentions we all hold in our hearts and for global issues.

Other opportunities for faith formation are provided through prayer services, sacraments, mass, and service projects. Fourth grade takes a turn with Mass preparation for our weekly school Masses. Our class will also lead a morning prayer service for the school. Parents are always welcome to join us for Mass and for our school-wide morning prayer assembly.

The seasons of Lent and Advent are celebrated in special ways in our classroom. Daily essons are prepared around these themes. Fourth graders create and keep both Advent and Lenten journals to deepen their faith during these important Church seasons.

Our Fourth Grade Religion curriculum emphasizes, among many concepts, the study of Scripture, types of Prayer, the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, community and service, the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy, Holy Days of Obligation, and common prayers and their meanings.

We strive to be a true family of faith.
