Rubric Criteria
Begin with the learning target (standard, criteria, competency, skill) and focus on the verb(s) in that target. Start with the end in mind.
All four levels needs a clear description
There is a progression in levels supporting and building toward mastery
Rubrics are in student-friendly language to ensure students can receive feedback and self-assess
Rubrics are written with “I Can” statements
Levels are written in positive terms (only things they can do)
