Course Description
Physical Education is typically a performance based course aimed at improving scholars’ knowledge and skills in a variety of team/individual sports and lifetime fitness activities. As we enter into a Virtual PE class - will focus more on a knowledge based approach. Scholars will learn how to take activities/sports an implement them into a plan for lifetime fitness. Participation in Zoom classes is a must and part of your participation grade!
Credits
Each scholar needs 2 credits of Physical Education to graduate from high school. Each year upper school scholars receive .5 credits toward Graduation upon successful completion of class.
Assessments
Scholars will be assessed on a weekly basis. These assessments will include: Participation/Performance rubrics and written work, that includes quizzes/tests and a wellness plan.
Expectations
Scholars are expected to be on time to Zoom classes and follow the Norms for synchronous work. They should be prepared with appropriate PE clothing and sneakers. Scholars will be actively participating during part of the class synchronous and part of the class asynchronous. Work is due by the "due date", no work can be submitted after a deadline.
