Health education is a holistic approach that requires the collaboration of home, school, and community. This will enable our young scholars to make responsible, informed decisions that will help them adopt and maintain healthy behaviors. Health is required for all students grades K-12. Two semesters of health are required at the secondary level; students receive a 1/2 credit at middle school (typically 7th grade) and a 1/2 credit in high school (required for graduation). These secondary level courses are taught by certified health teachers. Students will
increase their health knowledge
develop the skills necessary to maintain lifelong health
learn and practice a multitude of life management skills that apply to self, relationships, communication, decision-making, planning, goal setting, stress management and advocacy
