ENL is an acronym for English as a New Language. According to New York State, the ENL program "ensures that all students attain the highest level of academic success and language proficiency, leading them to college and career readiness." All teachers are teachers of ELLs (English Language Learners). Your child's ENL teacher will provide quality instruction and make content accessible to foster your child's English language skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Your child will be learning in integrated content classes as well as stand-alone classes, which are designed for beginner/low-intermediate ELLs. We also understand that we must provide instruction that is culturally responsive and relevant for your child, and we make every effort to do so.
