From the Superintendent

As a longtime educator at Rochester City School District, I am committed to improving educational outcomes for our scholars by working collaboratively with students, parents, RCSD staff, and the community to implement innovative programs, develop equitable policies, and push the boundaries of education. I emphatically believe that children are more than our future; they are our present.

With that being said, I want to ensure parents, guardians, students and staff have access to tools that will prepare our children for success during high school and beyond.

The Rochester City School District’s Course Catalog was developed and will be provided to assist with making important decisions about courses scholars will take during the 2023-2024 school year. The Course Catalog provides diverse offerings that will propel our students to the next level of success.  In choosing courses, scholars and families work collaboratively with teachers and school counselors to select classes and a graduation plan that will help them satisfy their graduation requirements as well as explore future possibilities that are aligned with college and career goals. 

A variety of new courses have been developed along with sequencing charts to assist scholars and families with charting the next steps toward success. There are also increased opportunities available to earn college credits via advanced placement, International Baccalaureate, and dual credit enrollment courses.

As the world continues to change and evolve, we are committed to helping our scholars not only meet but exceed the high level of expectations. We are committed to fostering our students’ individual talents and abilities in a nurturing environment of equity. In addition to ensuring all students have equitable access to high-quality education and graduate as productive members of society.
