This year-long course offers high school students an in-depth exploration of music from various perspectives. Students will engage with a diverse range of musical topics, including world music, digital audio production, music and marketing and more. Through a blend of in class instruction and hands-on activities, students will develop a deep appreciation for the music that surrounds them in everyday life.
This year-long beginner piano course focuses on foundational skills in piano playing, music theory, and literacy. The class is primarily student-led, with students working through individual packets at their own pace. The teacher will provide brief demonstrations or guidance as needed, but class time is mainly for independent learning.
Students will develop proficiency in reading sheet music, playing piano pieces, and understanding basic theory. Performing in front of others is optional, though participating in class activities is strongly encouraged.
Guitar II is a year-long, student-led course designed for high school students with basic guitar experience. This class focuses on electric guitar techniques, TAB reading, effects pedals, and hands-on learning. Students work primarily through individual packets at their own pace, with the teacher providing brief demonstrations or guidance as needed.
The course emphasizes independence, consistent practice, and active participation. Performing in front of others is optional, though engagement with packet work, exercises, and in-class practice is essential for success.
