Commencement Ceremony
Saturday June 26, 2021
Dear Edison Tech 2021 Graduates:
You will each go down into history as the graduating class that successfully survived a global pandemic. I commend you for the true grit and resiliency you have exemplified during your years at the campus, especially during the last two years at Edison Tech.
As you venture into the world of work, college, or the armed services, imagine yourself as the type of person you want to be and then be just that. You may have to let go of some bad habits and develop more positive ones, but don’t give up. For it is only in trying and persisting that dreams come true.
You have been prepared through your time at Edison of being and doing anything. You just need the discipline and determination to see it through. It won’t come instantly, and you may backslide from time to time, but don’t let that deter you. NEVER GIVE UP!
Life is an ever-changing process, and nothing is final. Therefore, each moment and every new day is a chance to begin anew.
As you embark on a new chapter of your life, always remember that learning does not stop inside the classroom. As Henry L. Doherty said, “Be a student as long as you still have something to learn, and this will mean all your life.” Every experience in life will teach you something. You just need to keep an open mind and open heart to see what lessons the world offers!
Yours in the rich tradition of being an Edison Tech Alum,
Principal Scott
