Rochester City School District and FRC Team 191 X-Cats are once again hosting Flower City Frenzy!
East High School - 1801 E. Main Street - Rochester, NY
June 6th, 2026
The X-Cats Robotics Team from Joseph C. Wilson High School in Rochester, NY, is hosting the second annual Flower City Frenzy. We know how much students gain from iterative tournament play. That is why we created Flower City Frenzy: to give urban, rural and suburban teams alike another opportunity to compete, grow, and learn.
This off-season event showcases the hard work, creativity, and teamwork of robotics teams from across the region. This year, in addition to a full day of exciting competition, the event will also feature a Career Fair and Technology Expo, showcasing an impressive collection of local technology firms and organizations.
Team registration is $400, and participation is capped at 28 teams.
The event is free and open to the public, so come out and enjoy a day of high-speed robot action, innovation, and community engagement.
Flower city Frenzy is an off season FIRST Robotics competition and a celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) for kids. The main event is the robotics competition where high school students operate robots, in 3-on-3 teams, to score as many points as possible or to block their opponents on a competetive basketball court sized playing field.
Visitors can view the robots up close with a visit to the pits. There they will meet the students and mentors who designed, built and programmed the robots. In addition, younger students will be demonstrating their FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Lego League robots.
There will be opportunities to play with Legos and other fun STEM activities for students. Lastly, there will be informational sessions where visitors can learn more about FIRST robotics programs and the technology that drives them.
