Kyra Stephenson is a seasoned educator and New York State Master Teacher Emeritus with over two decades of experience. Kyra currently serves as a Nature-Based Learning Coach at Anna Murray-Douglass Academy School #12 within the Rochester City School District, where she has successfully integrated a comprehensive nature-based learning program into a public school. She is passionate about fostering a deep connection between people and the natural world, particularly in helping youth connect with nature.
She is also the founder of Nature Mind Solutions LLC, a consulting company that helps educators integrate nature-based learning into their teaching practices to promote holistic wellness, academic growth, and community building. Through personalized support, coaching, and resources, her company empowers schools to create sustainable and inclusive learning environments that connect students with nature.
Her commitment to environmental education has earned her recognition, including the distinguished Seneca Park Zoo Environmental Innovation Award. She is also a key member of Rochester's Nature Everywhere Vision Lab Team, contributing to the Children and Outdoor Bill of Rights initiative under the Children and Nature Network. Beyond her professional achievements, Kyra finds joy in her role as a spouse and parent to three children, cherishing moments immersed in nature and fueling her commitment to environmental stewardship and holistic education.
