My name is John Fricks, and I currently serve as the Director of Instructional Technology and Communications for the Rome City School District. I was raised in the serene town of Fyffe, Alabama, and in 2008, I proudly graduated from Fyffe High School. Seeking to expand my knowledge and skills, I pursued higher education at Shorter University, where I successfully completed my Bachelor's Degree in Education, specializing in Secondary Mathematics, complemented by a minor in Religious Studies. Additionally, I had the privilege of playing football on the offensive line, contributing to our team's triumph as Conference Champions in the fall of 2008.
Upon graduating from college, I embarked on a rewarding journey with Rome City Schools. Throughout my tenure, I have assumed various roles, including teacher, assistant principal, and associate principal. These experiences have granted me invaluable insights into the educational landscape and have further fueled my passion for fostering effective learning environments.
In pursuit of continuous professional growth, I pursued advanced studies at Kennesaw State University, where I attained a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology, a Specialist Degree in Instructional Technology Leadership, and acquired a certification in Educational Leadership Tier I. These credentials have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of instructional technology, enabling me to effectively integrate cutting-edge tools and methodologies into educational settings.
While leadership and technology are focal points of my professional endeavors, I also nurture diverse interests beyond the educational realm. Traveling, football, swimming, and a multitude of outdoor activities captivate my free time and contribute to my personal growth. I firmly believe that diligence and an insatiable thirst for knowledge pave the path to success in any endeavor.
