10th Grade Global Studies Projects
English: One of the primary objectives of the Global Studies program at Rutland High School is to prepare our students to be successful global citizens, individuals with the skills, knowledge, and compassion to improve the world they live in. The ability to understand another human being’s perspective, someone from a different country with its own unique culture and beliefs, is an essential component in building respect and empathy in our students for people who may not look, sound, or dress like they do. In these videos you will see and hear creative writing pieces read by their authors and selected by the English 2 teachers. These pieces were inspired by an historical or global issue the students learned about in English 2. The goal of these pieces is to bring to life the perspective of an individual from another country and, often, from a different time. We hope you enjoy them, and thank you for watching.

World History: Students in World History 2 researched and created presentations on imperialism and its legacies in an African country of their choice. This was an opportunity to both deepen their content knowledge regarding Africa and imperialism, as well as to hone their research skills in preparation for future assignments.
