Life Drawing- Self Portrait Series (L. Csiszar)- July 13- Aug 7: If art is the window to the soul then a self portrait is like walking through the front door. Throughout art history, many artists have created self portraits but have you ever wondered who the portraits were really for? The self portrait offers the artist an internal glimpse, this is especially relevant when we find ourselves facing an event that is much bigger than we are. Self portraits can be a key that unlocks our perception of ourselves and frees us to live sincerely through any situation. While we all share this new global experience, let's begin to create a series of self portraits to document our relationship to these moments and perhaps discover how we grow through them by drawing. Each week we will create a portrait using different materials and prompts to begin the piece. A pre-recorded tutorial will be posted on Monday and students can work independently throughout the week. On Fridays, we will meet online to look at our work, share and discuss. We will work with an All Media paper and a variety of drawing tools/materials to create our weekly self portraits; all materials will be provided. This four week session is designed for you to have fun as you grow as an artist in many ways. Join this summer drawing sesion for an opportunity to enhance your skills, perspectives and portfolio!
