Resources for Fine Arts Virtual Learning and Enrichment
There has been an outpouring of shared resources cropping up on social media and professional organization websites. It's quite remarkable and inspiring how educators, professionals, and organizations are coming together and stepping up their game to support kids and teachers during an uncertain time. There is no shortage of ideas and activities to be found online, from museum virtual tours, to authors and actors providing story times, to artists and musicians providing tutorials. Here are a few of my favorite virtual experiences I have seen in the last 48 hours:
Jarrett J. Krosoczka (@studiojkk) , a popular children's author is doing free art lessons for kids on YouTube. He's popular for the "Lunch Lady". and "Young Jedi" series of books among others.
Chrome Music Lab is an excellent way to experiment with music at home. Anyone can create musical patterns and learn about the science of sound in an easy, kid-friendly format. Accesible on tablets, phones, or computers! https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com
Google Arts & Culture offers 11 Dramatic Virtual Tours of Stages Around the World.
The MET will stream a different opera every night for the foreseeable future.
Musictheory.net offers online music theory lessons.
Storyline Online streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustration. There are books about music and art.
