What is the Indigenous Education Council (IEC)?
The IEC is made up of Indigenous community partners who represent First Nations, Inuit, and Métis perspectives. It also includes members of the Indigenous Education Team, the Superintendent of Education, and Trustees. Student voice is gathered through the Indigenous Youth Council and helps to inform the IEC.
What is the purpose of IEC?
The IEC guides the school board in building stronger relationships with communities, sharing information, identifying promising practices, and enhancing collaborative work to support achievement and well-being for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students.
