Short Biography

Avishek Paul is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of ECE at RCCIIT. Previously, he was the Assistant Professor in the Department of AEIE at RCCIIT from 2014 to 2024. Before joining at RCCIIT in 2014, he served as Assistant Professor at Techno International Newtown, formerly known as Techno India College of Technology from 2012 to 2014, IEM from 2011 to 2012 and Narula Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2011.

He was awarded his Ph.D. (Tech.) degree from the Department of Applied Physics at University of Calcutta in the year 2025. He obtained his M.Tech and B.Tech degrees from the Department of Applied Physics at University of Calcutta in the year 2011 and 2009 respectively. He completed his Graduation in Physics Hons. also from University of Calcutta in the year 2006.

His research interests include Biomedical Engineering, Internet of Medical Things, Biosensors, Signal Processing, Biomedical Robotics and sensor development. He has published more than 10 articles in reputed SCI and Scopus indexed journals and conferences. He holds 3 copyrights against his name. He has guided more than 25 Undergraduate and 05 Post Graduate projects.

He has been selected as Evaluator and External Mentor for NEC (National Entrepreneurship Challenge) organized by IIT Bombay for two consecutive years 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 respectively. He is an Innovation Ambassador and AIORI Ambassador of the Institute and active member of various committees and cells of the Institute.
