Audio and PodCasts

The "Unconquerable" PodCast I produce with my laptop and a pair of microphone equipped headphones.

Easy to Make PodCasts

Audio recordings are simple and easy to produce and distribute. For my show, I use a free host site called "Anchor: which is accessed through anchor.fm.

To utilize audio in class, you do not need a host website to make a podcast- you can make an audio recording with Sound Recorder, and place the audio file on your school web site or your Google Classroom. Below, you will find two examples of audio based lessons I have utilized in class with success.

Exemplars

In this example, an embedded audio file is placed in a Google Form, and the students can each access the file on their own, and complete the questions on their own. If students have their own headphones, this assessment can be used in class; to 'flip' the classroom, this can be utilized as a homework assignment.

Using Pre-Made PodCasts

Below is an example of using a ready made podcast for class. In this case, we have an episode from "Freakonomics Radio," one of the most popular podcasts for years.
