Using Videos and Audio to Enhance Student Experience
Professional Development
A few words to start:
First off- this website was originally used in 2017 when Sandy Ploe and I used it to first introduce Screencasting in Google and I recently added an updated video.
I also used this for a graduate school exemplar so some of the site was rearranged for a project.
- Videos can be used to enhance the learning experience
- YouTube clips can be easily uploaded to your Google Classroom- simply click on a class, create "Material", and import the video from YouTube
- If using a DVD, you can easily create assignments and upload them to classroom
- With Hapara equipped accounts, links can be pushed out to students, and student screens can then be 'locked' on assignments to incorporate audio/viode for tests
- Videos in the classroom can be a different way to present your own information
- Screencastify and other personal recording software allows you to record your own lectures or presentations
- Audio offers additional possibilities
- Many PodCasts can be linked into Classroom or onto a Google Doc
- Similiar to video, audio can be incorporated into tests and locked onto the screens, or utilize the classroom PA system
- Using "Sound Recorder" on your computer, nothing more than a microphone is needed to create an audio file to use as a makeshift podcast
- Finding a platform like "Anchor" can be used easily and for no cost as well
- This allows you to create your own content
- Lectures, stories, original compositions can all be recorded and used for various purposes
- Find what works for you!
- Your discipline, your subject matter, and your own individual needs can allow you to be as creative as you would like/need!
