ENGLISH ELOCUTION COMPETITION
[Poem Recitation & Enactment]
An ‘Inter-class English Elocution Competition’ is conducted annually wherein the participating students in class are trained to face the audience with confidence. They are encouraged to recite and present their poems with correct diction, clarity and good pronunciation. This year, after the preliminary round, the finals were held on 25 th August for the students of Grade VI and VII and the following day, the students of Grade VIII presented their enactment of the poem. The healthy competitive spirit was the highlight of the event. The parameter for the judgement was subject matter relevance, organised thoughts and ideas, voice modulation, presentation and effort, in addition to fluency, confidence and presentation. The eighth graders marched with their props as well since their key role was also to enact what they recite. The finalists’ displayed oratory skill with zeal and enthusiasm. Winning the competition was a matter of honour and pride the individual participants. The competition enabled the students to speak with more clarity and finesse and it surely was an enjoyable experience for all those who participated. The competition was culminated with a few words of encouragement by judges.
Good Health and Wellbeing
SDG 3, Std 6C and 6D
The SDG Goal 3 addresses all major health priorities, including reproductive, maternal and child health; communicable, non-communicable and environmental diseases; universal health coverage; and access for all to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and vaccines.
The UN has defined 13 Targets and 28 Indicators for SDG 3. Targets specify the goals and Indicators represent the metrics by which the world aims to track whether these Targets are achieved. Below we quote the original text of all Targets and show the data on the agreed Indicators.
Objectives:
SDG 3 aims to prevent needless suffering from preventable diseases and premature death by focusing on key targets that boost the health of a country's overall population. Regions with the highest burden of disease and neglected population groups and regions are priority areas.
Mission:
· A SALAD A DAY KEEPS DISEASE AND AGING AT BAY:
ASIDE FROM THEIR NATURAL GOOD TASTE AND GREAT CRUNCHY TEXTURE ALONGSIDE WONDERFUL COLORS AND FRAGRANCES, EATING A LARGE SERVING OF FRESH, RAW VEGETABLES EACH DAY CAN HAVE SIGNIFICANT HEALTH BENEFITS.
DECORATE YOUR HOME EASY WAY:
PERHAPS ONE OF THE MOST OBVIOUS WAYS INTERIOR DECORATING HELPS US ON A MENTAL LEVEL IS BY DISTRACTING US AND FORCING US TO FOCUS BY GETTING US TO DEEPLY ENGAGE IN THE DECORATING PROCESS. WHEN DEALING WITH LIFE'S MANY STRESSES, IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO REGROUP AND REPRIORITIZE OURSELVES AND OUR WORRIES.
