RBKIS SCOOP

WELCOME TO THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-22

Dear Parents,

Greetings from RBK International School!

As Principal of RBK International School, a continuum Cambridge International pathway from Primary years to Advanced level years, I am humbled and honored to have the privilege to lead the school, and I work with the team to ensure that our students are confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaging in learning experiences.

Today's learners express their voices, bring in multiple perspectives, access to information and technology and set their goals to meet the purpose. Our aim is to support them to make it more relevant, meaningful and authentic during their learning experiences. It is my responsibility to build positive relationships with all stakeholders of school community through my collaborative approach to achieve the whole school goal, cordial and cooperative in prompt communication with clarity, and caring for the learner's holistic wellbeing - physical, social, emotional and intellectual.

The Cambridge curriculum is well designed, developed, implemented and evaluated in our school context aligned with our vision, mission and core values. I would emphasize and be committed to providing resources, guidance and feedback at every stage to reflect upon for improvement and achieving academic excellence. I will be employing appropriate tools and instruments to evaluate the curriculum, pedagogy and assessments bringing effectiveness of the learning outcomes and institutional milestones.

My focused leadership will ensure that our students attain the academic qualifications of Cambridge on gold standards of group award as ICE in IGCSE and AICE diploma in A levels, and community projects qualifications through Duke of Edinburgh International award. Thus, they will be successful in pursuing higher education in top universities of UK and the world including Indian universities.

In Cambridge Primary and lower secondary, we provide a broad and balanced education for our learners helping them lay foundation and to thrive throughout their schooling, work and life. With ten subjects to choose from we lay foundation to subject specific skills, build strong conceptual understanding, and help them achieve to transfer their knowledge in transdisciplinary, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary contexts progressing at higher stages of learning.

Notwithstanding the disruption in the form of second wave surge of Covid situation, we have evolved to bring blended learning experiences to our students in virtual platform and physical environment deemed necessary to build social skills, strengthen cognitive skills and stay connected to the spirit of sustainable and experiential learning.

I look forward to meeting you in person to detail the plan of action and seeking your continued cooperation to help our students achieve their goals.

Best regards

D.E.A.R. ACTIVITY

Keeping Reading as one of the ethos of our school, all the RBKIS learners participated in D.E.A.R (Drop Everything And Read) time which is celebrated across the globe on the APRIL 12th every year. As the pandemic has confided us to our homes, it has given us all a golden opportunity to spend our time reading with kids. Parents along with the learners joined us on this D.E.A.R Day and committed to read 20 minutes.

GRADE 8 - GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES

Importance of Research Skill

Global Perspectives and Research is a skill-based course that prepares learners for positive engagement with our rapidly changing world.

To develop this skill of Research, learners of grade 8 have taken up the topic on 'Migration - with a detailed study of difference between refugees and migrators.'

They collaborated their research in form of ppt's which they presented during their GP session.

AS LEVEL - MEDIA STUDIES

"Semiotics" means the study of signs and symbols. While studying about various aspects of Media, it's important to know the symbolic representation of ideas rather than using words or phrases. The learners of Media Studies in AS level learnt to identify simple signs around them which could convey the meaning even without writing a single letter on them. Later in the course they will learn how to use these symbols and signs to produce an extraordinary media text.
