Grade 3 Integration
This week as we come to the end of our second unit “THE ARTS”, the students of Grade 3 worked towards integrating different subject areas with the unit. Students connected English, Maths, French, Hindi, Art, Music, Drama, Library, ICT and Dance with the UOI topic and were able to beautifully express themselves in different ways.

Students worked on their story writing skills through comic strip activities, where they expressed their ideas through various dialogues and characters and had thoroughly enjoyed it.

Integration with Math and U.O.I.
Students learnt the shapes names in French and then using coloured paper they drew and cut the shapes. Some of them stuck them in the book. Others joined the shapes to make something interesting out of it. Students really enjoyed doing the craft activity.

As students learnt to write their own stories during their language class, in ICT they learnt to type the same story and give graphical effect. They really enjoyed this activity a lot.

LIBRARY integration with UOI
During the library lesson, we invited a well known author ‘Katie Bagli’ as a guest speaker to connect to our unit ‘The Arts’. Poetry in itself is an art form. The words are often full of imagery and expression. She did the poetry reading session with the students and taught them how to write their own poetry. She discussed the term ‘Imagery’ and how words can help students imagine a picture.

HINDI
HINDI integration with UOI
During this unit, students presented five to six sentences about their favorite art work and art forms.Through this activity they learnt many new words and how to form sentences in Hindi, because listening and speaking skills will help them to improve their reading and writing skills.
