Lesson 5: Collage Drawing

Your Goal: Develop shading through the use of pencil. Create an image from magazine collage. a collage from magazine images then transfer the image using the lightbox. Once the image is transferred as a line drawing you will add depth by shading the image.

Directions:

1. Create an image using collage. Use 3-5 magazine images.

2. Photo Copy

3. Match shades of grey to the collage photo copy. Use Pencil

You may trace image using light table.

Materials:

• Magazine images for collage
• Gluestick
• Scissor
• White paper
• Pencil

Rubric:

• Completed collage that is a cohesive image. (Tells a story)
• Photo Copy
• Project completed on white paper using pencil
• 5-7 Gradiants of shading.
• NO LINES!!!

The intention of this assignment is to develop shading and mixing colors through the use of chalk pencils. You will create a collage from magazine images then transfer the image using the lightbox. Once the image is transferred as a line drawing you will add depth by shading the image.

Directions:

• Create a collage using 3-5 magazine images.
• Lightly trace image onto white sheet of paper. (Use pencil and light box)
• Color in image using chalk pencils. Match colors to original collage.

• Glues stick
• scissor
• White paper
• Pencil

• Completed collage
• Project completed on white paper using pencil
• 5-7 Gradiants of shading.
