Our Robotics Club has begun a new drone project for the 2024-25 school year. This project was brought forward in the spring by a number of enthusiastic students. Collaborating with Regina Public Schools, the program has been able to procure two drones we can fly inside and outside of the school. Students honing their flying skills with the goal of being able to race, navigate obstacle courses and provide footage for a variety of school programs. Drones are a fast growing sector in agriculture and industry, making this a potential career path for our students.
Campbell Collegiate Robotics club took part in a drone workshop hosted by Queen City Drone at Campbell. Through this workshop 20 Campbell students were able to write their Basic Operations license and received their license. Through this course there was also the opportunity to fly a number of professional-grade drones giving our students a taste of what is being done in the commercial industry with drones.
