Rawmarsh Sandhill Primary School

Welcome back!

We have had a really good start to our new year, with children returning well and starting their learning in new areas. It has been lovely to welcome new starters in Foundation Stage 1, as well as see how all our children have settled back into their routines and shown increasing maturity now they are in their second term.

We will be sending out Autumn term reports to parents in the next week or so, so please keep an eye out for these in your registered emails. If you want a paper copy, please contact the school office. Best wishes to everyone!

SEND Catch up Meetings

This new year we have been continuing with our weekly drop ins. The aim of the drop ins are for parents to come together, chat, listen and support one another! These get togethers are completely informal and a safe space to discuss anything SEN from support in school to home.

It's been lovely welcoming so many familiar faces and hopefully you have found it useful. This year we have introduced our first themed drop in focusing on Dyslexia. A big thank you to the lovely Mrs Kirk for making the time to share her expertise. Going forward we would like to provide more themed drop ins so if there is an area of SEN you wish to know more about then let Mrs Hartley or Mrs Breedon know and we will see what we can get together.

Coming soon - Over the coming weeks Mrs Hartley and Mrs Breedon are updating the SEN Information Report and website. Any insight into the information you would like to see reflected on the website or SEN Information Report would be greatly appreciated. We will be asking for your input in the coming drop ins.

Attendance Update

We are pleased that our attendance since returning from the Christmas break has been improving. We'd like to encourage all parents and children to attend as well as possible. Remember our attendance shop and prize draw will take place every half-term and we have some exciting ideas for new awards this time!

Year 5 and 6 Climbing Experience

Our Year 5 and 6 children have begun their climbing experience and curriculum for this year at our Cranworth campus. They have showed real resilience and belief in developing their skills and understanding their hand and feet placement. Some of them were able to complete their climbs in very quick times!

Last week's attendance (w/c 16/1/23)...(please click to find out!)

95.9 (Fantastic - keep it up!)

Highest attendance: Mr Lowry's class on 98.9%!

Please ensure your child is as punctual as possible in attending school, as key learning begins straight away and we do not want any child to miss out on this!
