We hope you are making the most of the glimmers of summer we have had in the last few weeks! Our children have certainly been making use of it as they use the new playground and activity set up we have worked on with their input. The feedback on the activities that we have designed is very positive and we will continue to develop and improve this as we go through the year!
Please remember, that as the weather gets better to ensure your child has access to a water bottle and a sunhat so that we can take advantage of the outside as we go through the summer term. Thanks!
Last month we took part in a career day through school, focussing this time on maths and what we may use this learning for in future jobs.
Some classes explored science and how understanding patterns is important. In Y5, the children became engineers and worked together to solve a problem designing a roadway for model cars. They quickly realised there is a lot of maths involved with such projects!
Well done Sandhill!
Penelope (Y2) has been playing tennis since being 4 and a half years old, and has recently been recommended to a 'Next Generation' academy which feeds into the Yorkshire team.
At her training session this week, she was watched by Jess Ennis-Hill, our local gold-medal Olympian. Best of luck with your future progression and success Penelope!
Our Fs1 children often go out and explore their environment and the world around us with Mrs Burton, who loves working with her forestry skills! The children have been very creative over the year -making see saws, flower bracelets and crowns, clay faces and lots more! Her Tree-rific Tuesdays really are fantastic. Thankyou Mrs Burton!
93.4 Let's look to improve even more!)
Highest attendance: Mrs Charles' class with 98%!
Please ensure your child is as punctual as possible in attending school, as key learning begins straight away and we do not want any child to miss out on this!
