Rawmarsh Sandhill Primary School

Best wishes for a safe Easter!

Thankyou to everyone who participated in our Easter Fair - it was lovely to see you! We thought our activities and games worked really well and we had lots of positive feedback about this, even though it was a tight squeeze in the hall due to the weather. We certainly have lots of ideas and tweaks that we will implement for our final summer fair later in the year! We'd like to wish our children, families and staff a safe and refreshing Easter break and hope to see you all safe and well on return. A reminder that school re-opens on Monday 25th April.

Goodbye Mr Lee-Green!

As you will be aware, Mr Lee-Green will be leaving us at the end of SATs week. We hope you will find time to speak to him whilst he is on the yard in a morning, or after school, to offer him your best wishes. We know that he has supported many families and children over his time in school.

For the remainder of the half-term, Mrs Whelan, Mrs Elvidge, Mr Cairns and Mrs Perceval will support the Y6 curriculum delivery, and as these are all adults who have worked with the children and know school well, we know it will offer them a strong sense of continuity. We will explain more about how this will work after Easter.

Climbing Success!

We are so proud of the Y5 and 6 children who recently represented our school at the Sheffield Bouldering Schools competition finals. They improved on their placement from the first heat and narrowly missed out on a podium finish! Their achieved fourth place out of 80+ schools who initially trialled, which is an amazing achievement. Congratulations to them all and please see some of their exciting pictures below!

Uniform

After Easter, we want to ensure that children are in their usual school uniform, both for their class time and for when they have PE.

Information about the correct uniform and kit can be found at:

https://rawmarshsandhill.org/uniform/

We really hope you will support this, as we are proud of our school and its uniform. We also know some children will get new uniform over the break as they continue to grow and develop!

This week's attendance...(please click to find out!)

94% (Not bad, but we can improve even further!)

Highest attendance: Mrs Perceval's and Mr Snaith's Y4 class with 99%!

Each challenge required a different grip skill

Placement of hands and feet was really vital

It was important to check the route first

Some routes had extra challenges!
