Wednesday has dragged Amasis to the dusty depths of the Nevermore library, a place even she finds... tolerably grim. Among forgotten scrolls and forbidden tomes, she finds a fragment of a very old text, detailing the initial steps of mummification. 'Before the transformation,' Wednesday intones, 'one must gather the essentials. No ritual, no matter how macabre, begins without careful preparation.' She points to a list of obscure objects, some ancient, some utterly absurd. 'Our first task, young sleuths, is to discern which of these items truly belonged to the initial preparation for eternal rest. Discard the frivolous, identify the functional. Only then will the first secret ingredient reveal itself.'
