About me
Katie Browning
Rapelje School District #32 K-12 School Counselor
My name is Katie Browning. I grew up in the big city of Lavina, Montana and graduated from Roundup High School before going to Rocky Mountain College for my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary English Education. While spending four years as an English teacher for grades 6-12 at Lockwood School District (just outside of Billings), I began to pursue my Masters of School Counseling at Montana State University-Billings. I will be finishing my internships while serving as the School Counselor at Rapelje and am looking forward to graduating with my Master's degree in May of 2024!
I chose school counseling during the Covid-19 pandemic, where my focus began to shift from the academic needs of my students to all of the other supports needed for them to be successful at school and beyond. During the pandemic, I found that my passions lie in helping students identify and achieve their goals whether they be school related or otherwise. I chose Rapelje because I wanted to return to a small community similar to the one that I grew up in, and help other small-town students achieve big goals.
When not at work, my husband and I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors with our two dogs. We love hiking, backpacking, and camping all summer, and we can be found at Red Lodge Mountain almost every weekend of the ski season.
We look forward to becoming part of such a great community! Go Renegades!
