At YREP, we believe that scientific research is not complete until it is shared. Our students don’t just gain hands-on experience in advanced research—they actively contribute to the broader scientific conversation. YREP students regularly present their original work at professional conferences such as the American Physical Society (APS) March Meeting and the APS Global Physics Summit, where they engage with researchers from around the world. In addition, they share their findings closer to home at Ransom Everglades’ Climate Change Symposium, inspiring younger students to explore their own scientific questions. Scientific dissemination has become a defining feature of the YREP experience—offering students a platform to share discoveries, refine their communication skills, and take part in shaping the future of science.
"Presenting a poster at APS made me love research even more. Hearing so many people so interested in our project really inspired me to stay passionate about research and continue working with YREP on a deeper level. Presenting my poster to so many people made me so much more confident talking to others professionally, and made me enjoy it so much!"

"Presenting my optical tweezing research at the APS conference showed me how rewarding it is to share scientific work with others. Standing in front of professionals and explaining my work made me feel like an active part of the scientific community, not just an observer. It gave me confidence in my ability to contribute to real research. The experience also helped me see how closely physics and engineering are connected, and it confirmed that I want to keep exploring that intersection through hands-on research in college."
