Mātauranga Māori - the place will be used as a place of learning, to share knowledge, underpinned by Māori ways of knowing.
Whanaungatanga - the place will be used to share our identity as a school and to develop for Māori students a sense of who we are.
Kotahitanga and Manaakitanga - the place will be used as a place of togetherness, sharing our āwhina to everyone, caring for a person’s mana through celebration of the school's values.
What will it be like?
We need a space that is uniquely Māori in order to provide full support for a school-wide culturally responsive pedagogy.
The space will be a new build to provide the quality we need.
The space will be a teaching area first, but also a meeting space for students, whānau and the wider school community
The space will be specifically designed and dedicated to teaching and learning under kaupapa Māori.
