I am a 2004 graduate of Mount Abram High School and a 2008 graduate from The University of Maine (Orono) where I received my degree in Early Childhood Education.
My degree, experience and passion for health and wellness brought me to Rangeley where I began working with the community as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, creator and director of the Children in Action After School Program and Fitness Director for Rangeley Health and Wellness.
In 2020, I merged my passions for teaching youth and community health and wellness when I became the Physical Education and Health Teacher here at RLRS.
My goal is to help students find the tools they need to lead healthy lives through various adventures, activities and engaging educational materials.
What to Expect in Class
The Rangeley community is such a wonderful place. We all work together to provide the best for our members. In PE classes you will often see different aspects of our community incorporated into the curriculum, whether it is having guests come to the school or going out into the community to use the fitness center, golfing, hiking, playing tennis and as seen in the picture above, ice curling.
Every PE class is adapted to fit the needs of all students. The goal is to get every student active in someway during every class. Shown in this picture is an easy way to get students who can't quite reach the basketball hoop when shooting a basketball to work on their skills by shooting the ball through a hula hoop. To create this at home simply tape two hula hoops together and place over the basket.
