By way of COVID relief funding, and donations, RLRS invested in a timber-framed outdoor classroom, that was built in February and March of 2022.

This structure will allow students and staff to learn and instruct outside while having the benefit of shelter and shade.

RLRS is also working to facilitate outdoor WiFi, so that students and staff can stay connected while they are at the structure.

The idea was spearheaded by Sonja Johnson and Lily Webber. It was then brought to fruition with the help of Nini Christensen. The structure was built by Nini's son, Nels Christensen (RLRS Class of 2008), as well as Penny Haas, Peter Christensen, Dan Simonds, Scott Blackwell (Blackwell Woodcraft Vermont) and Cliff Dexter. Joe Haley at M&H facilitated the excavation work.

The RLRS Class of 2020 donated $7500 toward the project, and Skowhegan Savings Bank donated $2500 as well.
