The story of this shelter began over 15 years ago with the arrival of Coquis, a mischievous cocker spaniel who, despite his difficult past, found a loving home with our family. Coquis was the first, but soon Wilfrido, Mandy, and Rudy followed—pioneers who showed us the power of adoption.
Over time, and despite challenges, our commitment to vulnerable dogs remained strong. In 2017, a new chapter began with me joining Randstad to help support my family and the dogs.
Then, in 2019, we decided to take another step by purchasing land, thanks to the support of my mom and sister. This decision was born out of urgency from our community, many dogs suffered on the streets, injured, abandoned, and sometimes even threatened with euthanasia. This reality strengthened our mission and gave life to the shelter.
Today, the shelter is home to more than 37 dogs, who receive food, care, and love every day. Over the years, we’ve facilitated the adoption of over 80 dogs and remain committed to sterilization campaigns to help control the canine population.
This story is a testament to the power of empathy and the importance of humility in each step we take.
By giving her best to care for these noble and grateful beings, Erika, the founder, teaches us an invaluable lesson: when we give love, we change lives.
