Scholar, author and former Randolph parent, Evan Pritchard, shared indigenous stories and taught us about the history of this land. It was a magical afternoon and we are so grateful you could join us! The children and teachers have been inspired by his stories in many different ways.
Special thanks to Sean, papa to Magnolia and August, for generously donating his time and considerable talent for Picture Day. The kids had so much fun posing for him. You are going to LOVE the results. Randolph parents are the best!
All hands were on deck as we found ourselves with a few BUSHELS of apples left over from cider-pressing. No worries, we all worked together to peel, core and chop, preserving them for our Harvest Feast next month. Did you know one apple skin can be up to 60" long? We measured!
The Fungi Friends got extra fancy to help Jules celebrate another trip around the sun!
Spiraling Towards Mindfulness
The Robins and the Kittens worked with evan to construct a spiral on the backfield. Walking through this "simple" maze is an exercise in mindfulness and an invitation to examine the concept of infinity as we could walk around, and around, and around, and around and around....
Masquerade Parade is our fall tradition that combines the excitement of the season with our all school theme of storytelling. Each child had the chance to make an original mask that represented a native plant or animal that was connected to a story that their class spent time learning about.
The masks were spectacular and our parade was a beautiful celebration of learning and community! Check out Nina's contribution to the Links page to find out more about the process.
