Legacy Rings

Several years ago, a thoughtful alumna, Julia Myers Clay ’47, created a class ring legacy by donating her R-MWC class ring so a student who could not otherwise afford to purchase one on their own would have the pride and enjoyment of wearing the ring. The tradition has continued – including the engraving of the new recipient’s initials in the ring before the surprise presentation during Ring Week.

Our honored ring tradition has been embraced by the Randolph College men as well, yet most of the R-MWC rings received are too small for our male students. A ring fund was established to purchase rings and to resize and refurbish donated rings.

If you no longer wear your class ring, you can help the Office of Alumnae and Alumni continue the ring tradition. Consider donating your R-MWC ring or contribute to the College ring fund. Class rings or donations by check (made out to Randolph College and marked “ring fund”) can be sent to the Office of Alumnae and Alumni, 2500 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, Virginia 24503-1526. Please let us know if you would like to receive gift-in-kind credit from the Alum Association for your donated ring.
