Most high school school students have the opportunity to take courses at their local community college. Through North Carolina's Career and College Promise, Juniors and Seniors can take college courses. What makes Randolph Early College High School different is students begin taking courses in their 9th grade year. Randolph Early College High School is part of North Carolina's Cooperative and Innovative High Schools (CIHS). Being part of the CIHS network allows for all of our students to take college courses beginning the first semester of their 9th grade year. If students stay on track, they can achieve an degree, diploma, or certificate from Randolph Community College.
All students begin college coursework in their 9th grade year.
Students can take any curriculum course offered by RCC except those needing a high school diploma
Students choose from Associate of Arts/Science/Applied Science, diplomas, or certificates.
Students complete placement testing their 9th grade year.
Open to students once they are classified as a Junior.
Students must complete pathways prior to completing the Full Associate of Arts/Science/Applied Science.
Students must complete placement testing or meet placement criteria prior to starting the program.
