Birthdays

Birthday Celebrations in 1-B

We all know that birthdays are important to every child and that kids like to celebrate with their classmates. However, sending in a food treat to the classroom to celebrate can exclude those who have food allergies, diabetes, and/or other dietary restrictions.

To ensure that your child has a wonderful birthday experience and that no child feels excluded, the following are our birthday celebration procedures for this school year:

· Your child will receive a birthday crown, sticker, pencil, certificate and bookmark from the class.

· Mrs. Pina will acknowledge your child’s birthday with a special reward from her office.

· Your child will lead us in a class game or activity of their choice (7-Up, 4 Corners, Telephone, Simon Says, Freeze Dance, Silent Ball, extra recess, etc…).

· The class will sing to your child during our scheduled snack time.

· If you wish, you may send in non-food items to share with the class (special napkins, party favors, goodie bags, music, etc…) or donate a plant, game, book, toy, etc… to the class in honor of your child!

Summer birthdays will be scheduled and celebrated in May and June. Personal birthday party invitations should be sent via U.S. mail. The Hubbard directory will provide you with a class list.

I will make sure that every child feels extra-special on his/her day! Thank you!!
