Year in Review!
In Mrs. Kenduck's 7th grade Spanish classes, students nominated an athlete for an award and wrote a speech about his / her accomplishments. They made some really cool awards!
Students were engaged in a comparative dissection of fish. They observed differences between the sea lamprey and the perch. The sea lamprey captured their attention because it has no stomach! This is because it is a blood-sucking feeder so does not need to digest. This sparked the student's curiosity, especially when considering the lamprey's role in the mysterious disappearance of trout from their habitat. The investigation not only provided insight into the unique adaptations of these organisms but also inspired students to unravel the ecological dynamics at play and contemplate potential solutions to mitigate the lamprey's impact on the local ecosystem.
