LOONA

LOONA is a 12 member South-Korean girl group, formerly managed by BlockBerry Creative. LOONA's Korean name, 이달의 소녀, translates to "Girl of the Month." Their debut followed a unique system with each member releasing a solo single album before their full group debut. Additionally, the 12 members formed 3 subunits (LOONA 1/3, LOONA / ODD EYE CIRCLE, and LOONA yyxy), also making their debuts before the group's full 12-member debut. The 12 members of the group (in debut order) are HeeJin, HyunJin, HaSeul, YeoJin, ViVi, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Choerry, Yves, Chuu, Go Won, and HyeJu (formerly known as Olivia Hye). Each member has a representative animal and color, which ties into their deep, intricate lore, called the LOONAVERSE. Their fans are called Orbits. LOONA is often regarded for releasing some of the strongest and most critically acclaimed music in the genre of K-pop, appearing on several year-end lists. Additionally, Max & Match is rated the best K-pop album of all time on rateyourmusic.com with 9k ratings. After leaving BlockBerry Creative in 2023, all the members have redebuted, with 10 of the members reorganizing into 2 new subunits, and 2 members going solo. They have shared hopes on multiple occasions to return as a full group someday.
