Event Purpose:
Bring together academics and practitioners to discuss ideas to improve public safety, and specifically, how we implement and evaluate those ideas ethically and rigorously
Increase accessibility of academic & practitioner collaborations to a wider network of scholars and practitioners
Workshop's Guiding Principles:
Public safety is expansive and multi-faceted, not solely being a function of crime.
Public safety is not just within the purview of justice system organizations and is not just a product of justice system policies.
Those closest to policy problems will have the most in-depth understanding of what is needed to solve those problems.
The best evaluations of programs and policies are those that utilize a mixed methods - and often interdisciplinary - approach.
How to Participate:
You can apply to participate in the conference by following the instructions on the Application page.
Applications from system-impacted academics and practitioners, academics from less well-resourced/under-resourced institutions, and practitioners from rural organizations are strongly encouraged.
